Orchid Riverview OK for 1 night

Just a night stopover at Orchid riverview, Surat Thani. Hotel was decent, basic room, dbl bed. Breakfast was good.

Too noisy as can hear next room and also on our floor people walking, talking till late night, as no sound proof walls.

Clean comfortable hotel for a couple of nights

- very friendly and helpful staff. - good location, big parking. - tasty breakfast (but limited choice). - our request was taken into account this time.

- Do not book here if you want to wake up late: noisy hotel staff with walkie-talkies in the early morning, making it impossible to sleep longer then 7:30. During the day it is very quiet though.

- very friendly and helpful staff - clean room and bathroom - comfortable bed - good location - tasty breakfast (but limited choice)

- noisy room maids with walkie-talkies in the early morning, making it impossible to sleep longer then 7:30 - didn’t get a quiet room as requested, even though the hotel wasn’t full.

Very good place to stay in Surat Thani

The room was a very good size and the balcony was a great size. The whole hotel is very clean and so is the pool. There is also a gym. The staff were excellent and their English was good. Overall it was a very pleasant place to stay for 3 weeks. You do need to have transport. I rented a bike from X rentals excellent service.

Wonderful

We felt that this is a good business hotel that had predominantly Thai guests. Walking distance are three nice places... a restaurant that has nice Thai dinner where we met several foreign people with Thai spouses; a market that has Thai food as you typically expect it 2 supermarkets (7 Eleven and a fresh market) Another "in" cafe restaurant that we did lunch in. If you are here on sunday...Not far with "Grab" (70 Baht ride) you can see floating market that had no European tourists. On Saturday, The shopping center "Central" impressed us as out side the entrance was a lovely night market with all local specialties and seating.

Very good value for money

The room itself is super nice and clean! Staff very friendly and the gym is also good. It’s a good value for money.

Just the breakfast. Although one of the staff members did see myself and my partner only have toast and being over cheese and ham out of the kitchen. Although we don’t eat either the gesture was super lovely. Maybe would recommend if they had maybe waffles or maybe alternative milk for example to have cereal with. :)

Good

Room was spacious and clean, breakfast is included. Perfect place to stay for 1 night before catching a morning ferry. 7/11 beside hotel and a lot of food stalls but not much else. We spent the evening in the local shopping centre at the cinema, which seems to be where all the locals go.

Breakfast consists of stir fries and noodles and not many other options. Pool is smaller than it appears in pictures. Shower is cold.

This the first time I visit surathani..everythink was wonderfull..I like cleannlines of the room

Very Good

Clean room, comfy bed, nice swimming pool. Very polite and helpful staff.

Only one person at the reception speaks a very basic English. No turism information, if you ask how to travel in the region, they recomand a taxi company which is far more expensive than minivans and public transport. From a 4-star hotel, I have expected more: in the room, there's a kettle but no coffee or tea bags, no bar, minibar, restaurant, etc. After breakfast, kitchen and dining hall are closed.

Fine location for stop-over

Room was clean and spacious. Bed slept good. Staff was nice & friendly.

The rooms need attention to cleaning, finger prints all over...

The rooms need attention to cleaning, finger prints all over windows and mirrors. Patches on the doors that had not been wiped. Dust on top of the tv and light switches. Everything else was clean but these parts were very noticeable!

Nice hotel, but turn outside lights off please or at least give us the choice to turn them off

It was comfortable. Shower was fine, pillows and bed OK. Close to restaurants.

You cannot turn the lighting from the balcony, so we moved the sofa to make sure the curtains stayed shut. My husband did not like this feature at all because he sleeps lightly.

Very early check in ( 8:30 am) which it was a luxury after...

Very early check in ( 8:30 am) which it was a luxury after travelling for the whole night by train. Swimming pool ok.

Very far away. You need to count at least 500-600 bath more from the station and back. Double bed far too small for two persons. Bathroom glass, room door and elevator very dirty. (oily and stained). Breakfast very poor. Cold fried eggs, cold food (not healthy). A variety of soups and Thai spicy food for those who enjoy this on an empty stomach.

Ok stay

The place was clean, and the room large. The bed comfortable enough, and WiFi was decent, although you had to keep logging in with the name/password for your room. It’s right by 2 convenience stores, and about 15-20minute walk to the night market area. Overall decent place, though I’d be tempted to try other hotels before returning.

No coffee/tea facility in the room. Not very personalised service when you arrive (just handed a keycard and find the room yourself style). The shower was terrible, the first day it took at least 5minutes running before hot water came out, and the power of it was like someone dribbling on you... But overall an ok stay.

May be set up for business salesmen.

New Hotel, shower was very good, hot and good pressure. Location is OK

The reception staff, including the non existing concierge. The restaurant is only open for breakfast, not at Lunch or Dinner times. All the food at breakfast was very cold, even the Thai menu. poor choices and quality.

GOOD VALUE FOR MONEY

Breakfast basic but ok value for money. Nescafe standard fair but again ok value for money. Staff very flexible allowing us to join as a group in the evening in the lobby to enjoy some drinks.

Orchid river view

Very modern clean comfortable and friendly although the restaurant was closed the staff told us about a one near by called crossroads only a few yards away lovely Thai food we did not do breakfast so can’t say how it was but would highly recommend the hotel great price and so well looked after

Hotel was nice and clean staff in the reception were very friendly but they couldn’t speak English Internet was not good I think all the problem in the hotel was a management problem
